Map Dot Fingerprint Dystrophy
What luck! I have a disease
With the the word “map” in it
And apparently
Large slightly grey outlines
Like continents on a globe
Etched on my cornea
(was it too much
sighseeing?)
Concentric circles
Like a fingerprint
As if
I’d put my finger
On the Atlas
Of my eye
Retinal afterimage
Ghost or optical
Illuson
persistence of vision
Lock and key
A mushroom cloud
Negative
On the eyelid
I also have
I’ve been told
A geographic tongue
Also called topographic
So I bought a little shrine
Of a prcelin doll
In a sardine can
Dressed in a map
Dangling
An airplane
And a tiny globe
To try and settle down.
