Always looking for interesting ways to keep a notebook…just bought myself a five year one line a day journal. Has anyone tried this? Had success with it?

There’s people who do it on twitter. I’m thinking particularly of @morningporch (Dave Bonta) , but a lot of people practice the discipline of extremely dense brief communication on twitter, and post on a particular day.

Twitter seems nice and ephemeral…it suddenly scared me to think so far in advance–what if it all ends up a catastrophe of global warming or something? Well, I can always quit!

I once kept volume after volume of journal but wasn’t writing poetry. The idea of one line for five years seems wonderfully do-able …

I tried this once: a Moleskine diary – one pocket -sized page a day for 365 days. Too strict for my undisciplined personality.! Maybe because each page was dated. Abandoned long ago. Instead, I’ve done a series of Moment Studies (with pics) – a short terse paragraph of the moment – for 3-6 months at a time. They’re fun. I’m thinking of starting another one for March – August.
