Monday Poem: Fierce Haiku by Sophie Sagan-Gutherz

I think I’ll call these “fierce haiku” by Sophie Sagan-Gutherz, who continues to be featured by the Well as the Monday poem.

i’m not over you
do you want to hear a joke?
i’m not under you

dull towns suffocate
we find solace in tight joints
she smiles and chokes

is this blood or jam
he just sand-papered my heart
i’m sticky and sad

i am the sun and
you are angry sea always
waving bye, you left

were the leaves green or
red i was red and you were
green so sick of me

i found remnants of
you in and around my thighs
i can’t stop crying
