Call For Kitchen Haiku from Irene Zahava

Good day, dear haiku poets!

This is an invitation to submit haiku for the next issue of brass bell: an online haiku journal. The theme is KITCHEN HAIKU. Publication will be in September; there will not be an August issue.

If you are interested in submitting work PLEASE read this entire e-mail. It is long but there is a lot of information I want to share with you.

I will consider 3-line and one-line poems.

Your haiku can be: set in a kitchen; about utensils and other things that are found in kitchens; about cooking, eating, washing dishes; about food or drink; etc.

Friday July 22 at 5 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time.

Expected publication date:
Thursday, September 1, 2016.
If your work is accepted I will send you the link as soon as it goes online.

Please send more than one haiku; the more choices I have, the better. 6 – 10 is probably ideal.

Paste your haiku in the body of an email — no attachments — and send to:

Be sure to include your name exactly as you wish it to appear, as well as your country. The list of countries will be noted at the top, not with each poem.

I am mainly seeking work that has not already appeared in a journal, though online publication on Facebook, your own blog or website, etc. is fine. I will also consider published work if it does not require a “credit memo” or attribution.

NOTE: If your work was published in either or both of these earlier issues of brass bell, please be sure that you do not send me haiku I have already used:

May, 2014, EDIBLE haiku:

November, 2014, TEA haiku:

(I am trusting you to check, so I don’t have to check each haiku I receive.)

If you have not yet visited the brass bell site PLEASE take time to browse through the archives BEFORE submitting work. This will give you an idea of what I like!
